In South Korea, October 25 (1025) is celebrated as Dokdo Day, commemorating Imperial Decree No. 41. This legal act was proclaimed by the Korean Empire in 1900 and stipulates that Dokdo is to be expressly understood as part of the administrative district of Ulleungdo Island.
