Preparation Instructions
Rinse 1 cup of sticky rice thoroughly under cold water until the water runs clear. Then soak the rice in water for at least 30 minutes (longer is better). Drain the soaking water.
In a pot, bring 1 cup of fresh water to a boil, add the soaked rice, reduce heat to low, cover the pot, and let the rice simmer for approx. 10-15 minutes until all the water has been absorbed.
Remove the pot from the heat, let the rice rest covered for another 10 minutes, then gently fluff it with a fork.
Tip: For an authentic consistency, the rice can also be prepared in a steamer.
